CoolSculpting removes areas of unwanted fat around the stomach, hips, arms, thighs, back and chin.
Many people are familiar with stubborn fatty deposits that won’t budge, despite a careful diet and regular exercise. They’re not large enough to warrant surgery, but they’re just big enough to frustrate because they are so hard to shift.
The good news is that these trouble spots are ideal to treat with CoolSculpting. With this revolutionary non-invasive treatment, there are no needles or anaesthetic, no knives and no downtime.
Our trained nurses use the CoolSculpting machine and are trained in body contouring by Dr Sellars and by Zeltiq approved CoolSculpting® international trainers.
The science behind CoolSculpting is the discovery of doctors from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, a teaching affiliate of Harvard University. They found that subcutaneous fat cells are more vulnerable to the effects of cold than other surrounding tissue, so they can be effectively targeted and then removed from the body via its own waste processes. The technique is TGA-approved and has now been used for more than 8,000,000 treatments worldwide. Unlike surgery and other non-invasive methods of fat reduction, CoolSculpting is the only procedure that uses cooling technology – not laser assisted or ultrasound methods.
CoolSculpting targets localised fat bulges by applying a cooling applicator to the treatment area – you will feel firm pressure and intense cold (which eases after 2 minutes), but the procedure does not require any local anaesthetic. During the treatment you can lie down, check emails or read a book and relax. Afterwards, patients are fine to return back to their usual daily routine, with no special garments required.
You can expect to see results anywhere from three weeks to three months. Because fat is not heavy, most patients lose centimetres rather than losing weight on the scales. Many patients comment that their jeans fit better and they feel much more comfortable in clothes, especially swimwear! (To view a selection of impressive results, visit coolsculpting.com). To stabilise the results of Coolsculpting, simply maintain your regular diet and exercise routine.
You can return to normal activity immediately afterwards and it does not require any special diet or exercise programmes.
CoolSculpting is ideal for those with stubborn excess fat in the stomach, hip, arms, thighs, back and chin area. Patients require a complimentary 45 minute consult to determine if CoolSculpting is right for them. Treatment costs start at $800 per application, and package discounts apply depending on the number of areas needing treatment and how many sessions are required.
You will be required to have a complimentary consultation with Michelle Sellars our registered nurse, to assess your areas of concern and to make a treatment plan for you.
This consultation generally takes 30-45 minutes.
You can then schedule your day for treatment.
